Driver Middle School recognizes Mr. Nick Ehrhart as the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year for the building. Mr. Ehrhart was nominated by many others in the building for his dedication to Driver students. Mr. Ehrhart not only leads the building as an IT teacher leader, robotics coach, PBIS champion, and exceptional science teacher, he always demonstrates positivity and builds meaningful relationships with students and coworkers.

A few of his peers said the following about him:

“Nick has done a lot to engage with the community. He was the one who sought out grant funding and community partners for the robotics team. He also has worked with Shelley Price from the YMCA to coordinate CPR class for the students. He reached out to Camp Yale and the Levi Coffin house to coordinate the 8th grade trip for DC stay-behinders. Very recently, Nick reached out to a group and had the students do a live lab with a scientist about genetically modified soybeans. The organization sent him all the lab materials to do and then Skyped into his classroom and discussed the results of the lab with the students. Nick is really good at engaging local organizations and using that contact to improve educational opportunities for students.”

Nick should be commended for “his dedication to ALL students learning. He generally cares about the students and their education. Nick is a positive person to talk with. Nick will share ideas and give honest feedback to me.”

Thank you to Mr. Ehrhart for all he does for students at Driver Middle School.
